Spokane's independent, college-preparatory day school for grades K-12.
Saint George’s School is an independent school nestled on a beautiful 120-acre property overlooking the Little Spokane River in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 1955, Saint George’s continues to make a difference in the lives of young men and women and prepares them to succeed at the best colleges and universities in the world. The Core Beliefs of the founders of Saint George’s have remained as the cornerstones of the school: Honesty, Respect, Generosity of Spirit, and Best Efforts. As part of our commitment to excellence, we try to live those Core Beliefs daily. They set the tone for how our students, teachers, staff, and parents interact with each other.
The personal relationship between teachers and students is the heart of Saint George’s School. We make two promises: First, teachers know their students. They understand what makes him or her excited about learning. Second, students are cared for in a nurturing environment. Teachers share in a student’s glory of a triumph and help students understand how to deal with setbacks.
Students are challenged daily to refine their analytical and creative skills; to question and defend their ideas; to accept responsibility for their actions; and, to develop their self-confidence through activities in and out of the classroom. They learn independence of analytical and creative thought; they learn to write, to think, to communicate more clearly, and to make informed decisions. The philosophy that guides teaching at Saint George’s School prepares students for life even beyond college in our changing and challenging world.
